P4 Outdoor Learning

A few days ago P4s were enjoying the benefits of the outdoor classroom that is nature. It was an art activity that links to both RME and HWB: Making NatureMandalas. They are ephemeral pieces based in expanding circles that bring the attention to the present moment and oneself. To make a mandala you need to see nature and slow down.

Saltire Awards

On Monday 28th May we held our second Saltire award assembly for our S3 pupils. The awards were presented by Mr Dillon and a number of pupils received their certificates for their volunteering work. 10 hour awards were presented to James McBride, Holly Parkinson and John McKay. 25 hour awards were presented to Scott and Ted . Leela collected her 50 hour award too. A special mention goes to Zara who was presented with an award for 200 hours of volunteering with her local riding stables. Mrs Andrews commented "This is a fantastic achievement and the school are extremely proud of Zara and all other Saltire award winner this year".

Flying high for Wallace Hall Staff

On Saturday 12th May, 10 of our finest staff took to the skies above Carlisle all in the name of charity. They each completed a skydive at Skydive North West for the Action for Children charity. So far they have raised £1791! Well done team!

P7 Take a trip to Edinburgh

Our P7 class have been on their annual residential trip to Edinburgh. This is an action packed fun filled few days which all the students enjoy immensely. There are always very tired students by the end of the trip but memories are made that last a lifetime. A very fitting send off to their primary years.

Primary rock the healthy snack!

Our primary students have been enjoying a healthy snack every day since February. Each student has access to a piece of fruit and a carton of milk. Needless to say this has been a big hit with all classes.

When ELC Pre School met P6 Buddies

Transition time has started for our ELC students. Today they met their buddies for next year and started building relationships with them. This was a very successful session and both the ELC students and the P6 students gain a wealth of experience and confidence from this. Much fun was had by all involved and they are all excited for what lies ahead for the rest of transition and P1!
