Rugby is a Royal Experience
Four teams from Wallace Hall Academy took part in a regional rugby tournament at Park Farm in Dumfries on Wednesday 11th September. Over 200 pupils from across the region joined together to enjoy a full day of rugby with some fiercely fought games taking place.
Our under 14 boys team won six out of six games to be crowned the overall winners of their section of the tournament. The under 16 girls and under 16 boys teams also played well, both finishing in a top four place in their respective competitions. Our under 14 girls had their first taste of competitive rugby where they joined players from other schools in a two team challenge.
Well done to all of the players taking part and a big thank you to Dumfries Saints Rugby Club and the SRU for organising the event.
The Wallace Hall pupils were treated to an extra bonus at the end of the day. As they waited for their bus home, they were delighted to watch the royal helicopter landing on the pitch with Camilla, Duchess of Rothesay, disembarking as part of her visit to the region.
