Lantra Award

Wallace Hall Academy was recently shortlisted for a LANTRA Secondary School Award for 2020. Mr Graham attended the awards ceremony at Dunblane Hydro on Thursday 5th March. The evening was a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate the success of learners from across Scotland’s landbased industries.

For the third time in recent years, Wallace Hall Academy was chosen as the winning school for this prestigious award. At the ceremony, Mr Graham was delighted to be presented with a beautiful glass trophy along with an award of £250 which will be used to support rural opportunities in Mid-Nithsdale.

Mr Graham said: “Given that nearly 300 years ago the school was running agricultural courses, it is fantastic that we are able to maintain this association with the land. Well done to the teaching staff, pupils, our partner farmers and all others who support this very successful initiative.”
