Wallace Hall Academy Golf Competition

On Friday 21st June 2019, several pupils took part in the Wallace Hall golf competition kindly hosted by Thornhill Golf Club. It was a warm but cloudy day and conditions were good.

At the end of 18 holes Ted Bowie was delighted to win both the Stableford Trophy and the W.A.B. Wilson Trophy for the best net score. Ted said: “I really enjoyed my game and the course played very well.”

After a blistering round Lewis Cheetham posted a terrific score, winning the scratch trophy. Lewis said: “We would like to thank Thornhill Golf Club for hosting the competition. We were given a very warm welcome and a delicious lunch.” Alexa Howat, winner of the girls’ trophy added: “I really enjoyed the day. The course was in great shape and the conditions were perfect for golf. I would like to encourage more girls to take part in the competition in the future – golf is a great sport and we are so lucky to have this lovely club on our doorstep.”
