P6 Go Fishing

Although the weather was slightly wet, P6 pupils had a thoroughly enjoyable day on their fishing trip to Farthingbank Loch at Drumlanrig recently. The children's enthusiasm wasn't dampened by the weather and all managed to catch a rainbow trout to take home for their tea.

The pupils had the chance to try three fishing techniques: worming, spinning and fly fishing. Not only did they catch fish, but they were also shown how to prepare their hard earned catch and cook it on the BBQ. Everyone tried some with the verdict - delicious! Well done P6!

Many thanks to Debbie Parke, Nithsdale Fisheries Trust, and all her angling experts from Borderlines for making this such an enjoyable day.
